Artist Pham Luc was born in 1943. He is the first generation of artists studying at the Vietnam University of Fine Arts from 1959 to 1964. Known as "Van Gogh of Vietnam", Pham Luc is the only contemporary artist who has a club with more than 100 collectors. Among them, Dr. Nguyen Si Dung - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Office is one of biggest collectors with more than 800 works.

The encounter between an artist and an art enthusiast has started since 1997. On the way to the airport, Dr. Nguyen Si Dung noticed the paintings displayed along the dyke. Immediately fascinated by the daring contours and colors; he stopped to buy one painting with a mother and child and send it as a gift for his wife. Since then they have become close friend, shared the passion for art and the love for the beauty of Vietnamese women.

Dr. Nguyen Si Dung said that nearly half of his collection from Pham Luc are on the subject of women. And for Pham Luc, women are his endless inspiration.

The exhibition "Hoa Dat Viet" organised on the occasion of the International Women's day 8/3 is a dearly gratitude to the wives, mothers with noble beauty and sacrifice.

* The exhibition will be held from 08/03/2016 to 08/04/2016 at TOONG, 8 Trang Thi, Hanoi.
